The will to live.....fully.
Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.
- -Kierkegaard
After reading this he slumped in his chair, as if having just been hit by a stray bullet. Strange thought, is it not? Perhaps the time we spend considering history, our own, and that of the world as we see it, is actually when our real learning takes place. This constant obsession with the future…..will I?......will it?......I hope that…..I fear this…….is on the last rung of the pole when it comes to individual development.
After perusing the manuscript to a now famous story, penned by F. Scott Fitzgerald, he started thinking that the compassion and empathy that we need to show others, has less to do with their current dismal circumstances, and more to do with assisting them to reflect understandingly on the path that led here…
Fitzgerald writes:
For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it.
And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.- ...............
